“Worth Knowing” Project

Human knowledge is vast and constantly evolving, with new and important ideas in science and the humanities emerging every day. Yet many of these ideas remain inaccessible to the general public, available only within academia and academic literature.

The goal of the “Worth Knowing” Project is to make important ideas in science and the humanities accessible to children, teenagers, and anyone eager to broaden their knowledge and education. The project creates a rich library of booklets written in clear, approachable language by some of the leading scholars in Israeli academia.

Booklets for Students and Schools

  • The booklets are designed at an academic level, yet written to be engaging and easy to follow for younger audiences.
  • Several booklets from the project have already been integrated into the curriculum for middle school science and technology tracks.
  • The initiative was founded by Prof. Ilon Solan, faculty member at TAU’s School of Mathematical Sciences and Director of the Beno Arbel Program for talented young mathematics students.

Project Mission

The “Worth Knowing” Project seeks to:

  • Bring key ideas in science and the humanities to younger audiences
  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning
  • Connect leading research with the next generation of learners
