Ostrover Day at TAU

 on June 5th 2026, we gather for a special day marking Yaron Ostrover’s 50th birthday.

The event will take place on Friday, June 5th, at Tel Aviv University in Schreiber 006, where we shall meet for three lectures as well as some food and drinks in between.

The day’s plan

Gathering and refreshments: 9:45–10:00
Opening remarks: 10:00–10:15

First talk: 10:15–11:05, Bo'az Klartag, “The unreasonable effectiveness of the convexity assumption in high dimensions”

Second talk: 11:20–12:10, Shira Tanny, “Creating Periodic Orbits: A Question of Poincaré”

Break with light lunch: 12:10–12:40

Third talk: 12:40–13:30, Gil Kalai, “The 3ᵈ conjecture”

Parking is available at the nature museum’s parking lot across from the math building (outside the university). A sticker for free parking will be provided at the event (bring the parking ticket with you).
