Congratulations to prof. Tomer Volansky the winner of the 2021 New Horizons in Physics Prize

Each year the New Horizons in Physics Prize is awarded to promising junior researchers who have already produced important work. Among the winners of this year:

  • Rouven Essig, Stony Brook University

  • Javier Tiffenberg, Fermilab

  • Tien-Tien Yu, University of Oregon

  • Tomer Volansky, School of Physics and Astronomy, Tel Aviv University

The four got it for advances in the detection of sub-GeV dark matter especially in regards to the SENSEI experiment.

 

In the same event a special Breakthrough prize in Fundamental Physics was awarded to Steven Winberg for his many achievements Including major contributions to Standard Model.
