The School of Chemistry congratulates Ofir Blumer for winning the prestigious Clore Foundation scholarship

Congratulations to Ofir Blumer for winning the Clore Israel Fund scholarship.

Ofir is one of ten graduate students who won the prestigious scholarship this year.

Ofir's research deals with enhanced sampling of molecular dynamics simulations using stochastic resetting. Molecular dynamics simulations are useful for studying diverse chemical and biological systems. However, one of their prolonged limitations is their limited timescales. In recent years, stochastic resetting emerged as an efficient technique for accelerating random processes. We develop an enhanced sampling method for molecular dynamics based on stochastic resetting, expediting the sampling of rare events and improving the inference of kinetic properties.

The Clore Foundation scholarship is awarded for a period of up to three years and includes a study scholarship, research expenses and a personal award.

The scholarship awarding ceremony will take place in November this year.
