Financial Support for M.Sc. Students

Those interested should fill out the M.Sc. teaching assistant position and/or financial support scholarship form (Hebrew). Please include the grade transcripts and submit to Yakira Navati, Teaching & Scholarship Coordinator, before the end of June of the preceding year.

Eligibility for assistant teaching positions and scholarships:

MSc students are eligible for two forms of support:

  1. Teaching assistant positions. Students are employed as laboratory instructors and course exercise graders. Students who have not completed all their course load requirements for their bachelor’s (and are not yet eligible for their B.Sc. degree), must fulfill this requirement a month before the beginning of the academic year.
Students’ employment is conditional upon review of their teaching performance each semester.

  2. Scholarship – scholarships are awarded in the first year of the   M.Sc. to students accepted as regular students, provided that they can show proof of  a GPA of 85 or above at  the beginning of October. Students whose status will change to regular (with GPA of 85 or higher) after this time can only apply for a scholarship in the second semester.
Second year scholarships are conditioned upon a GPA of 80 in the first M.Sc. studies year, completion of the three core courses and finding an advisor. Students who did not receive a scholarship in their first year are eligible for a scholarship during their 2nd year if their GPA for the three core courses is 85 or higher.

Scholarships and teaching assistant positions:

Students qualify for a scholarship and a teaching assistant position during the first 2 years of their studies.

Students in experimental fields of research are entitled to an extension of their teaching assistant position by an additional semester, for a total of five semesters.

Students requiring supplementary academic work for their undergraduate degree are not eligible for a scholarship or teaching assistant position. After successful completion of their academic requirements and upon acceptence as regular M.Sc. students, these students can apply for a scholarship and/or a teaching assistant position.

Acceptance to the Direct Ph.D. Program:

Master’s students accepted to the Direct Ph.D. program in their second year are attributed a P.hD. scholarship and an appropriate teaching assistant position
