Professor Emeritus Guy Deutcher, of the Condensed Matter Department in the School of Physics and Astronomy, has been awarded a large European Union Horizons 2020 3-year grant, in the Industrial Leadership category. In this grant, Prof. Deutcher and his team are collaborating with groups in academia and industry in FASTGRID, a project to develop high-critical-temperature superconducting fault current limiters, that will improve the stability of the electrical power grid.
