Israeli team ranked Number 1in International Mathematics Competition

The Faculty of Exact Sciences and the School of Mathematical Sciences congratulates the Israeli team that was ranked Number 1 in the International Mathematics Competition, a math competition for undergraduate students in Mathematics.

 

In the competition, which takes place in Bulgaria since 1994, participated 73 teams from various universities worldwide. The Israeli team included four undergraduate students from Tel Aviv university: Tom Kalvary, Yoav Krauz, Amotz Oppenheim, and Omri Solan, and two undergraduate students from the Technion, Guy Raveh and Nitzan Tur. This is the best result of the Israeli team since it started participating in the competition in 2008.

 

The individual results of the team members are also outstanding: Yoav Krauz was ranked first among 324 participants, Tom Kalvary was ranked 3, Omri Solan was ranked 5, Nitzan Tur was ranked 7, Amotz Oppenheim was ranked 20, and Guy Raveh was ranked 79.

The school applauds the team's coach, Lev Radzivilovsky, a Ph.D. student at the school, who led the team to this outstanding achievement.
