Research

My research explores how quantum light-matter interactions, metastable states, and open-system dynamics shape the behavior of molecular systems. When molecules interact strongly with confined electromagnetic fields, such as inside optical cavities or near nanostructured surfaces, they can form hybrid light-matter states known as polaritons. These states provide a powerful framework for controlling molecular reactivity and engineering the quantum properties of light. I am particularly interested in how the structure of cavity modes influences photochemical pathways and how the evolving molecular state imprints itself on the emitted or transmitted light field, offering new routes to probe and manipulate quantum molecular dynamics.

In related directions, I study metastable (resonance) states that play key roles in processes such as dissociative electron attachment, tunneling, cold collisions, and interatomic Coulombic decay (ICD). Using complex potential energy surfaces, we can examine how ionization couples to nuclear motion and shapes chemical pathways. I am also interested in bridging non-Hermitian quantum mechanics and open quantum systems theory to uncover how coupled environments and quantum losses influence molecular and photonic dynamics.
