Service Laboratories of the School of Chemistry

The School of Chemistry has service laboratories and workshops that significantly contribute to the advancement of the research performed at the school. These school facilities serve the School's researchers as well as researchers from other inside and outside university units.

NMR Lab: This lab, equipped with several NMR instruments, is a central tool in the characterization of molecules synthesized or isolated by our researchers. In addition, the lab supports the organic chemistry student lab and provides services to external customers.

Mass Spectrometry Lab: This is another central facility for organic chemistry researchers, which assists them daily with composition and structure determination of new molecules.

University Analytical Chemistry Lab: A new lab that is in its launching stages, is designated for the use of researchers from all over the TAU campus and outside. It contains various analytical chemistry tools and the equipments intended for self-use of most of the students and researchers with proper guidance, advise and supervision of the person in-charge.

Crystallography Lab: This lab provides services for crystal structure determination using x-ray diffraction. Single crystal x-ray diffraction patterns can provide exact information on the atomic and molecular arrangement in the crystal.

Mechanical Workshop for Research and Development: This workshop supports the research projects performed at the School of Chemistry by designing and manufacturing research tools and systems. The service is provided to the School's research and instructions labs as well as to outside clients.

Glass-Blowing Workshop: Produces glass tool and glass systems for the research and instruction labs.

Electronics Lab: Design and assembly of electronic components and instruments for experimental systems, such as: amplifiers, power supplies, analog-to-digital converters, and signal generators. Repair and maintenance of computers and electronic equipment is present in the research and instruction labs, classrooms and offices.
