Center for Global Climate Change
The Global Climate Change Center is a leading and essential field of knowledge and research in the new Porter School of the Environment and Earth Sciences. It will provide new insights related to the links between climate change and especially extreme weather events at the local to regional scales and the dynamics at the synoptic to large circulations scales as well as understanding the effects on natural and agricultural ecosystem functioning and public policy assessments and interventions. The motivation for its establishment stems from a combination of factors:
To promote climate change research together with inter- disciplinary research initiatives that are the basis for comprehensive research in both the theoretical and applied disciplines.
To promote both theoretical and applied research while improving the range of methodological approaches.
To develop the Global Center for Climate Change at Tel Aviv University into the leading national and international knowledge center in the field.
To develop disciplinary and interdisciplinary educational programs focused on climate change for undergraduate and graduate students.
