Abstract:

Co3Sn2S2 is a ferromagnetic Weyl semimetal that has been the subject of intense scientific interest due to its large anomalous Hall effect. In my talk, I will show that the anomalous Hall effect in this material is strongly exchange biased. I'll show evidence to a spin glass phase coexisting with the ferromagnetism, and argue that this is likely caused by the geometric frustration intrinsic to the Kagome network of magnetic ions. This spin glass phase is what gives rise to the exchange bias, in an interesting display of intrinsic exchange bias in a single crystal.
