About the Department

The Department of Geophysics provides knowledge and understanding of the composition and structure of the Earth, together with the atmosphere surrounding the Earth, the natural resources within, especially oil, gas and water, and the creation together with the planets as part of the Solar System.  It is the only department in Israel where there is a complete educational program in geophysics with the physical aspects of the Earth emphasized.

The study program is diverse and contains courses and laboratories in the field, trips around Israel, involvement with research teams, seminars and fascinating projects. The studies in the department are carried out in a pleasant atmosphere, the relationship with the lecturers is direct and informal, with advice, help and direction provided at any time.
