Congratulations to Prof. Yael Roichman and Dr. Shlomi Reuveni who have been a awarded the prestigious European Union ERC grant
Prof. Yael Roichman and Dr. Shlomi Reuveni from the School of Chemistry
Prof. Yael Roichman was awarded the ERC grant in order to conduct research on active matter information machines. The relation between information and thermodynamics remains a fundamental thought-provoking issue since the days of Maxwell. The most effective platforms used to explore this relation are information machines: processes that convert measured information about a system to extractable work. The awarded research proposal focuses on how the efficiency and output power of an information engine change when operating on an active system far from thermal equilibrium.
Dr. Shlomi Reuveni, who joined the school of Chemistry in 2017, was awarded the ERC grant in order to conduct basic theoretical research on the dynamics of proteins and enzymes at the single-molecule level.
