abstract:
We review a method for creating new time-dependent solutions in general relativity and in gauge theory by double wick rotating a known time-independent solution, i.e by placing sources or charge distribution along the imaginary time axis. We generalize this method to a U(1) gauge theory, and utilize it to investigate the field theory description on the boundary of Wick-rotated string configurations using the AdS/CFT correspondence.
