Abstract:

Quantum many body systems are a theoretical challenge, both from analytical and numerical points of view. Tensor networks, and in particular matrix product states (MPS) and projected entangled pair states (PEPS) suggest new approaches to many body problems, on both the analytical and numerical levels.

In my talk, I will give a brief introduction to MPS and PEPS, and present a reformulation of lattice gauge theories, compatible for use in these tensor networks methods, as well as in quantum simulators.
