The ninth Edmond J. Safra Biomedical Informatics Entrepreneurs Salon took place on April 12 2022 with participants from academia and the industry gathering for in-person meeting. This was the first face-to-face salon in two years, since the beginning of the pandemic.
Prof. Ron Shamir, head of the Edmond J. Safra Center, opened the event and introduced the speaker, Dr. Tzvika Hartman, SVP Computation at Biolojic Design.
Dr. Hartman gave an exciting talk titled "Computational design of smart antibodies". He introduced the unique approach of Biolojic to antibody design, which combines computational and experimental steps, discussed a drug developed in this way that is entering clinical trials, and outlined the computational challenges in the approach.
The Salon series, led by Prof. Noam Shomron, Edmond J. Safra Center member (Medicine), is an initiative of the Center that was launched two years ago, is a forum to promote entrepreneurship at the convergence of biology, medicine, and computing. It aims to create a meeting, interaction and networking forum for academics, industry, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists interested in joining together biology, medicine and computing. The series is a collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School and the BIES series.
