January 2023: The first TAU MedTech Hackathon: Koval and her team wins 2nd place

The first TAU MedTech Hackathon took place on January 11-13, 2023, at TAU.

The event was organized by the Faculty of Medicine and a group of students, and was supported by several centers, institutions, and companies, including the Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics.

Several researchers and student fellows from the Center participated in this event as team members, mentors, and judges.

The Hackathon’s judges were very impressed by the creativity and dedication of all participating teams. Following a first round of project reviews, six teams qualified for the grand finale, and three won prizes.

Team "Mommies'" from the Keren Briah's women's health track, was announced as the 2nd place winner. This team created a community-based wellness app for early detection of peripartum depression and supporting mothers.

Among the six students on this team was Victoria Koval, Edmond J. Safra MSc student fellow (Gat-Viks, Life Sciences). The team will get Leumit Weccelerate  complete escorting program.

Congratulations!
