March 2019: Frishberg, Steuerman and Yankovitz win a prize in a medical Hackathon

Three Edmond J. Safra PhD students, Amit Frishberg, Yael Steuerman and Gal Yankovitz (Gat-Viks lab, Life Sciences) together with PhD student Moran Neuhof (Life Sciences) and Dr. MD Moria Maimon-Cohen (Maccabi Health Care) participated in a "MedAboutData hackathon" competition.

Three Edmond J. Safra PhD students, Amit Frishberg, Yael Steuerman and Gal Yankovitz (Gat-Viks lab, Life Sciences) together with PhD student Moran Neuhof (Life Sciences) and Dr. MD Moria Maimon-Cohen (Maccabi Health Care) participated in a "MedAboutData hackathon" competition.
 
 
The group developed a machine learning tool for detecting Celiac disease in a broad population, using health medical records provided by Maccabi. The group won the third place in the competition, which was held on March 14 2019 by the Technion, Maccabi Health Care and the "Yozma Leumit" (National Initiative) organization, headed by the initiator Erel Margalit.
