Edmond J. Safra Center & SPARK Tel Aviv - Joint grant call

updated: 15.11.2023

We announce a new collaboration between SPARK TEL AVIV and the Edmond J. Safra Center, including a joint grant call to seed computational business/industry oriented initiatives in the digital health domain.

SPARK TEL AVIV is a mentoring program created to accelerate scientific discoveries and clinical practices by bridging the gap between academic research and the healthcare industry.
This year, for the first time, SPARK teams with the Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics to open a new computational track, aiming to enable translation of computational biomedical research to healthcare practice.

This is truly a wonderful opportunity to move computational tools and methods from the proof of concept stage to the practice.
The benefits to awardees go far beyond financial aid, providing support to overcome the obstacles involved in moving early discoveries from workstation to bedside by directing and facilitating translational research.

See the new call for the Computational SPARK track. Deadline for submitting applications was November 22, 2022.

After a comprehensive review process, we were happy to announce the two winning projects on June 2023:

    Prof. Noam Shomron, Edmond J. Safra member (Medicine) and Prof. MD Eran Hadar, Rabin Medical Center. Project title: "Small RNAs as early predictors for preeclampsia".

    Prof. Roded Sharan, Edmond J. Safra member (Computer Science). Project title: "Leveraging gene panel sequencing data for mutational signature analysis with applications to personalized treatment".
