September 2018: Chor and Rubinstein's on-line course: "Getting started with CS and Python"

Edmond J. Safra member Prof. Benny Chor and Edmond J. Safra affiliate Dr. Amir Rubinstein (Computer Science) launched the first on-line TAU course in computer science for "non computer science" audience, including high school kids.

Although computers are constantly around us, for many of us they are mysterious. How do they work? What can (and can't) they do? How do we tell them what to do?

The course, titled "Getting started with computer science and Python programming" aims to answer these questions, and to acquaint participants with important and beautiful ideas from the world of computing. Participants will gain basic programming skills, understand fundamental notions from a variety of areas within computer science, and learn how to think computationally.

The course is aimed for any curious person, including high school pupils and undergraduate students from any discipline. It is given in Hebrew, with subtitles in Hebrew and Arabic.
