Collaboration with Physicists from TAU in ATLAS
Protons collide head on with each other in the particle detector ATLAS, located at the giant LHC accelerator at CERN laboratory, at Geneva.
The kinetic energy of the protons is converted into a large number of particles which are produced in the collisions. The Higgs particle was discovered through a detailed analysis of a very large number of events of this type. The prediction that the Higgs particle exists was made in 1964 and in 2013 the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to the physicists who made this prediction
