Workshop: Spatial and Temporal Monitoring of Pasture Ecological Quality: A Multidisciplinary Approach

Wide regional and frequent monitoring of the situation in response to extreme human disturbances or climatic conditions such as long draughts cannot be achieved by field methods or traditional ecological survey methods. Furthermore, assessment of the plasticity of ecosystems response to these conditions is most limited. Remote sensing imagery offer distinctive advantages in the spatio-temporal domains, however, they do not provide explicit ecological information but rather rich data in terms of the spectral, spatial and temporal patterns of change. In the frame of this workshop we discuss the multidisciplinary approach and present current and future directions.
